BENEVOLENCE GUIDELINES
Most of us have found ourselves in a difficult situation regarding our own personal financial situation at some time. Unexpected things occur on a regular basis when a household appliance or personal vehicle breaks down. However, these are not the kind of situations for which the benevolence fund is designed.
A) It is designed for emergency situations when:
a. Basic utilities are threatened (excluding phones)
b. Food has run out
c. Transportation to work is jeopardized
B) It is not designed for such things as:
a. Mortgage, car or personal loan payments
b. Rent payment
c. Charge account indebtedness
d. Legal or tax obligations
e. Bank overdrafts resulting in pending arrest warrants
C) The following guidelines are closely applied:
a. Must be a member of Church Eleven32
b. The extent of our financial help is generally limited to $250.00 for any one individual or family for an initial financial request. If the need exceeds that amount, the involvement of Church Eleven32 Board is required.
c. For any request in excessive of $75, a Benevolence request form is required.
d. Requests for ongoing financial assistance is based on a careful evaluation of the individual’s spiritual, emotional, and financial progress each time request is submitted. Progress is determined by the Executive Pastor and/or assigned Church leader/coach.
e. Ongoing financial assistance is normally granted for no more than three consecutive months to any individual.
f. No ongoing financial assistance will be granted unless the needy individual is pursuing job opportunities on a full-time basis, regardless of whether employment positions are available in their specific vocational area of preference.
g. Any major exception to the above guidelines is made only with the unanimous approval of the Church Eleven32 Board.
